Fencing

by @ Wednesday, August 18th, 2004. Filed under Sports

I’m a little bit pissed off at NBC at the moment.
Kate and I spent a bit of time yesterday watching the Women’s Individual Sabre Semi-finals yesterday. I was very happy at the coverage that was being given to it on Bravo. We watched the two semi-final matches and the bronze metal match. [...]

30 Car Update

by @ Sunday, August 15th, 2004. Filed under NASCAR, Sports

Starting next weekend Jeff Burton will be driving the 30 car. While I kinda hate it for Dave Blaney, who I’ve always liked, I’ve also always liked Jeff Burton. Hopefully the 30 team will be able to get some good finished out of this. He’s signed for a 3 year contract and [...]

Dave Blaney Interview

by @ Monday, July 19th, 2004. Filed under NASCAR, Sports

The NASCAR site has up and brief interview with Dave Blaney, the current driver of the AOL sponsored 30 car.

Green-White-Checker

by @ Saturday, July 17th, 2004. Filed under NASCAR, Sports

NASCAR has finally decided to implement the green-white-checker policy into the Busch and Cup Series races.
It’s about time. I’ve enjoyed that aspect of the truck races since I started watching them last year, and the fans deserve to see a race finish with racing.
I’m not sure how I feel about doing it in the [...]

Alcohol Free Seats

by @ Thursday, July 8th, 2004. Filed under NASCAR, Sports

I’m very proud of Richmond International Raceway for providing a section of alcohol free seating at their track.
That makes it a lot easier for me to consider taking Xander to a race there.

Dave Blaney

by @ Thursday, June 17th, 2004. Filed under NASCAR, Sports

RCR has announced that Dave Blaney will be taking over duties in the 30 car.
That’s nice. I was afraid for a while there we’d keep a driver a whole season.
I do like Dave Blaney though. He’s one of those underdog drivers I like to see do well whenever they are able to run [...]

The Orioles

by @ Sunday, May 9th, 2004. Filed under Baseball, Sports

I’ve not mentioned it, but The O’s have been above .500 for most of the season so far. They’ve even spent time in first place.
As of now the standings for the AL East have the O’s just 1.5 games out of first.
It’s nice watching us win some for a change.

Talladega

by @ Monday, April 26th, 2004. Filed under NASCAR, Rants, Sports

I was pretty disappointed with the way the race on Sunday ended.
No, it wasn’t the fact that the race ended under caution (I’ll talk about that in a minute though). It wasn’t the fact that Dale Jr. didn’t win (I think that Gordon was ahead when the caution came out). It was the [...]

A Full, Rich Day

by @ Saturday, March 13th, 2004. Filed under Family, Movies, NASCAR

This morning, Xander and I got up and headed out to The National Air & Space Museum Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center to watch the IMAX NASCAR movie. Xander did a wonderful job being patient while we waited in line to get into the museum (we got there about 10 minutes before it opened) and [...]

IMAX NASCAR

by @ Thursday, March 11th, 2004. Filed under Movies, NASCAR

I went to see the IMAX NASCAR movie tonight. You’ll noticed I’ve dropped the 3D. Apparently the 3D is for some theaters, and ours isn’t one of them.
Oh well, no great loss there. The movie was great! I won’t go into too many details on it, but it was beautiful and [...]

IMAX NASCAR 3D

by @ Wednesday, March 10th, 2004. Filed under Movies, NASCAR

Got my ticket to the IMAX NASCAR 3D movie today. Working where I do has its advantages. I’ve got a free ticket to a preview showing Thursday night. Free in that parking is $12, but it’ll be worth it.
I’ll be feeling it out for taking Xander to see it this weekend.

Playing Baseball

by @ Monday, March 1st, 2004. Filed under Baseball, Family, Sports

Xander and I had a great time this afternoon playing some baseball. He got a tee ball set for his birthday. It was a beautiful day today, so I left work a little bit early so we could go out and play.
He did a wonderful job. He listened to everything that I [...]

NASCAR is Almost Here

by @ Sunday, January 25th, 2004. Filed under NASCAR, Sports

Two weeks till we get racing again!
I can hardly wait. I do, however, have some thoughts on the upcoming season.
I really don’t like the new points system that NASCAR is putting in place. I think this whole “playoffs” style end of the season this is silly. In other sports you have playoffs [...]

The 30 Car

by @ Tuesday, December 9th, 2003. Filed under NASCAR, Sports

Johnny Sauter is going to be driving the AOL car next year. He’ll be getting the same crew chief that helped Harvick win his rookie of the year award in 2001. Hopefully things will come together next year for the 30 car!

Basilar Skull Fractures

by @ Wednesday, October 22nd, 2003. Filed under NASCAR, Sports

Not many people remember that Dale Earnhardt shouldn’t be dead. Diecast Dude recently mentioned that several drivers had died from the same injury the year before Earnhardt died. If NASCAR had paid attention to the problem then instead of waiting for one of their stars to be killed, Adam Petty, Kenny Irwin, Jr. [...]
