Point one, WiiFit isn’t kidding around.
Point two, I’m out of shape.
Hopefully WiiFit will be able to help encourage me in that regard. It is a lot of fun. Some of the exercises are quite challenging for a sedate software engineer such as myself. If i can keep up with it though, it should make a big difference. The game is a lot of fun, and all four of us really enjoyed playing it.
This is just amazing, and this is a guy doing it in his home using the Wii and his PC. I can’t imagine it will be much longer before game developers start doing something like this.
We are at my parents house today. I woke up this morning and walked out to the living room where Xander and one of his cousins were playing Wii Sports Bowling. Xander announced that he’d gotten 8 strikes in a row! Sure enough, that’s what his score card read. He turned his attention back to the game and ended up with a spare for the 9th and 10th frames. I think me coming out broke his concentration. In any case, he ended up with a score of 267!
We are pretty much addicted to Wii Sports around our house these days. All four of us are playing it on a fairly regular basis. One of our favorite games is bowling. So, I was pretty impressed when I came across someone who has built a Lego robot that can bowl a perfect game.
I love my Wii. It’s an awesome game system and we are all enjoying it. Xander and I have played countless hours of Wii Sports together. He’s started beating me in bowling now. All the Wii Sports games are a lot of fun though. My Dad and I played it for hours when they were up for Xander’s birthday. I think he’s going to end up owning one. The controls are just so natural for the Wii Sports games. Mira even plays bowling and tennis with Xander and me. If you can only get one system and you have kids, I think the Wii is by far the best choice. I’m just amazed by how much fun we are having with it as a family.
I’ve gotten a Wii now! Kate went out this morning to Target and waited in line while I watched the kids and picked one up for me. She did it instead of me so she could use out 10% off card at Target. It’s currently sitting downloading the system update. I’m looking forward to getting it all set up and playing! I’ve got such a great wife. ![]()
I’ve still not managed to pick up a Wii for myself. I could have this morning, but I didn’t. Wal-Mart had them this morning. I called and they seemed to have plenty. I just couldn’t bring myself to give Wal-Mart the money though. I just don’t like them as a company. I can bring myself to shop there when it is something I need that they have that no one else does, but I just can’t shop there for a luxury.
On the up side, a friend of mine got one this past week and he’s hosting a game night next week. So at least I’ll get a chance to try one out in the near future.
Maybe Target will get more in next week.
Details for the Nintendo Wii launch have been released. November 19th for $250. It will include the game Wii Sports.
After the disapointment with all things PS3, I’m really looking forward to the inovation that is possible with the Wii. As games like Katamari Damacy and Chibi-Robo show, new and different is often good in the world of games.
