The kids and I did some cooking today. We make a Strawberry Trifle and Tuna Melts. They both impressed me with all the stuff they were able to do, and with how interested they were in doing it. Both things came out great! Tomorrow we are planning are making turkey burgers and maybe even some banana bread.
Point one, WiiFit isn’t kidding around.
Point two, I’m out of shape.
Hopefully WiiFit will be able to help encourage me in that regard. It is a lot of fun. Some of the exercises are quite challenging for a sedate software engineer such as myself. If i can keep up with it though, it should make a big difference. The game is a lot of fun, and all four of us really enjoyed playing it.
I should also mention how amazed I was with Xander today. I picked him up from school today. He had a book waiting for him at the library that he’d requested for a research project he’s doing. I was amazed at how comfortable he was there. We walked in and he walked right up to the desk and he handled everything. He got his book and we were ready to go.
I was having some reading time with Mira today when she declared, “When I’m a wife, I’ll come see you everyday!” Then she paused for a moment and thought and added, “And if I’m sick I’ll have my husband drive me, because I shouldn’t be driving when I’m sick.” Kids are just wonderful sometimes, you know?
We had a nice Mother’s Day today. We gave Kate her presents in the morning. Then we went out for a nice lunch. In the afternoon we watched Raiders of the Lost Ark with the kids for the first time. It was a nice day, and I hope Kate enjoyed it as much as I did.
Mira got her chance today. Kate had an event at school with Xander this afternoon, so rather than taking the afternoon off, I took Mira into work with me. She was very excited about it all week. We had a great time. I took her around and introduced her and showed her the computer lab. Then we sat at my desk and she drew me some pictures while I got my work done. She seems to have had a great time, and I loved having her there. I’m glad it worked out that she could get a chance to do this too.
