Xander and I had a great day today.  He got to go to work with me today for Take Your Child to Work Day.  AOL does a big deal for it every year.  This is the first year I’ve taken him though.  Mira isn’t quite old enough yet, so I just took Xander.  We had a wonderful time.  It was mostly a day of him sitting and playing games on one on my computers while I worked.  He did get to see the things I work on though and got to see me working with other people on them.  He also got a take a look at the computer lab and got to meat a lot of my coworkers.  Oh, and he also enjoyed my white board quite a bit also. He really had a good time and didn’t really want to leave when I decided it was time to head home.  I got to enjoy a wonderful day with my son at the office, which was a real treat for me.

We had a pretty awesome day today.  We played some Rock Band in the morning.  It was a beautiful day today, so we went out to Lansdowne Town Center to have sit outside and have lunch at Not Your Average Joe’s.  After that we went to the courtyard there and let the kids run off some energy.  Then it was back home to cool off and play some more Rock Band.  After that we watched some Ninja Warrior till it was time to get the kids in bed.  We had a nice, full, fun day together.

We picked up Rock Band today, and it is awesome!  Kate, Xander and I all had a great time playing.  Kate was on vocals, Xander played guitar, and I tried my hand on drums.  We all had a really good time and we are looking forward to playing a lot more in the future!

Kate and I celebrated out 13th anniversary today.  As is out tradition, we didn’t do all that much other than enjoy being together.  She and Mira came and met me for lunch today, and all four of us went out for dinner.  After the kids were in bed, we had a nice evening together watching Doctor Who and Torchwood, one of of favorite things to do.  It was a fun day and we’ve had a wonderful 13 years together.

Kate and I got new cell phones today.  We’ve needed to get new ones for a while.  We got the phones we’ve had up to now back in April of 2004.  They were old and only just worked properly anymore (mine did anyway, Kate’s was actually almost completely broken).

I got myself a Palm Centro in a nice black color.  They’d only had the white until recently, which I was going to get because I liked the phone.  But when Kate when to pick the phones up today, they had the black in stock, so she smartly got that one for me instead.

Kate got the LG CU515 since she decided she didn’t need as much fancy stuff on her phone as I wanted on mine.

We’ve got 30 days on the phones to decide if we like them or not.  If we don’t, we can take them back and try something else.  I don’t suspect that’ll be a problem for me.  It’s possible Kate might come across something she doesn’t like about her phone though.

We are pretty excited, since phones do a lot more now than when we last bought them.

Xander, Mira, and I have been sick since last weekend. Running fevers between 99.5 and 102 at various times. We are on the mend now though. We went to the doctor on Wednesday and each got medicine and it seems to have made a difference. It was a long and mostly miserable week though.
