We had a great Halloween tonight. Mira was dressed as Snow White, and Xander was dressed as a Knight. We all had a wonderful time walking around the neighborhood and trick or treating. We made our biggest circuit of the neighborhood yet, since the kids were more up for it this year. We had a great time and the kids got a nice haul of candy that should last them a while!
I broke down and picked up Guitar Hero 3 yesterday (for the 360, of course). I had a ton of fun with it last night. The only down side of it is that my left wrist and fingers are a little bit sore today from all the playing I did last night. It is a tough game, and I’m only playing on the Medium settings so far, which uses 4 of the 5 frets on the guitar. When I finally decide to go to Hard, that’s going to be a huge adjustment. The game is a lot of fun though, and the kids are enjoying it quite a bit as well. I’ll likely let Xander give it a try this weekend, and see if he likes it.
I turned 35 years old yesterday. I had a great day. I got to sleep in late. Then I came downstairs and the kids were super excited that it was my birthday. We opened presents and I got to enjoy all the stuff that they and others had picked out for me. Then I got to spend most of the day playing video games. We had Pei Wei for lunch, which I love, and Kate even went out to pick it up for me, so I got to do another of my favorite activities, not leaving the house. Kate had even picked me up a carrot cake for my birthday cake.
It was a wonderful day spent with my family, which is another of my favorite things to do. I’m another year older and I can’t think of a better way to have spent the day.
Gmail has added IMAP. Thanks to Mike I found out that Gmail has been enabling IMAP. I went and checked, and I’m one of the lucky accounts that has it enabled. I’ve got it all set up and running. It was a big feature that kept me from using my gmail account as much as I might otherwise.
We’ve finally gotten some rain the last couple of days. It has been dry here. We are on mandatory water restrictions and such.
We’ve had a nice soaking rain the last couple of days. It doesn’t fix things, but it sure helps. We just need it to do this off and on for a while.
Three friends and I finished the fight on Legendary last night! It was a lot of fun to play through the game at that hard level with a group of friends. I highly recommend the experience to anyone who has finished the campaign on their own. It really gave a different feel to the game. Great job Bungie on finally giving us this awesome feature!
I’ve still got a job. We had big layoffs today at work, but I made it through ok. It was a rough day though, lots of good people were let go. It’ll be rough for a while, getting used to things without them. I’m trying to be happy for myself, but it’s hard to see friends lose their jobs.
So I went with the kids on a field trip to Crooked Run Orchard today. We had a lot of fun picking apples. We brought home 20 pounds of york, golden delicious, and rome apples. I’m not quite sure what we will do with all of them, but the kids had a great time picking them.
I just finished the fight! No spoilers. My reaction to the ending is mixed though.
