I took Xander to school this morning. He got out of the car and I closed the door.
“Daddy!”
“Oh, sorry.”
I opened the door back up and let him close it.
As we are walking in I say, “Sorry about that Xander, I just have trouble remembering that you are a big boy now.”
“You still remember me being a little boy?”
“Well, you were a little boy for a long time, so I’m still not used to you being able to do so many things for yourself. I used to have to help you get your clothes on in the morning and brush your teeth and open and close doors for you.”
“And now I can do those things for myself.”
“That’s right.”
“It’s ok, Daddy. You’ll get used to it.”
