So Mira is a little sick. She’s not throwing up though.
For the past few weeks, Mira has had a very bad cough. It’s worried Kate and me to no end. It has been horrible to listen to.
Kate has had her to the doctor a few times, but they’ve not really been able to find anything wrong.
Kate took her again today. The doctor listened to her lungs again, and once again couldn’t really hear any problems. Since it had been going on for so long though, she decided to send Mira out for a chest x-ray. She said she doesn’t really like to give x-rays to little kids, but that this had been going on for long enough that it was worth it.
So Kate took her to do that. They got it read pretty quickly and it turns out there is some stuff in her lungs. She said that she appears to have a mild case of Bronchiolitis which was causing a little bit of asthma.
So she is putting her on some asthma medication to bring the swelling in her lungs down, which will hopefully help the coughing. She’s also putting her on an antibiotic to keep her from getting anything more serious while we get the gunk out of her lungs.
Hopefully this will clear things up before too long.
