We all had a wonderful vacation.
We went to visit Kate’s parents first. We had a great time there. Xander and Mira loved playing with Grandma and Grandpa. They loved playing with the Bristle Blocks and Playmobile stuff that they had around the house.
We stayed there till Tuesday. Then we headed to Clinton, and then on Wednesday we headed to the beach. Xander and Mira loved playing in the sound. They weren’t much for the ocean, but the fun they had in the sound more than made up for it. Mira loved riding around in the water in one of those kid floats that you sit in. Xander had one of those round floats that you wear under your arms. They both loved floating around the sound in it.
We headed back to Clinton on Saturday, and left from there Sunday to come home.
We all had a wondeful time. I think Xander summed it up best while we were at the beach, “I want to stay here forever.”
We’re back home now. It was a long drive home, the traffic on 95 past Richmond wasn’t pretty.
We’re here now though. Trip info coming soon.
After a long drive yesterday, we made it to Kate’s parents’ house. The kids did a great job in the car. We were very proud of them.
Xander enjoyed playing the licence plate game. This is the first time he’s really been interested in playing it. It’s something I’ve kinda looked forward to for a long time, so I had a lot of fun with it.
We’re here now, resting up and enjoying seeing the kids with the grandparents.
I take my lunch to work, because the food at work seems a bit pricey to me for what it is.
Recently, Kate started buying me A Taste of Thai quick meals. They are so good I thought there were worthy of a mention here. All 4 of them taste great. Everything except the water comes in the box. You just mix it in the box, microwave it for about 4 minutes, and you have a nice yummy Thai meal for lunch. It’s been a nice change from the sandwiches I usually bring.
Peter Jennings died last night.
He’s not been on the news for a while, since he announced he had lung cancer back in April. Still, the news won’t quite be the same any more. Pete just seemed to understand what I needed to hear. September 11th would have been much more difficult without him there to help get us though it.
He’ll be missed. Good night, Pete.
