NASCAR has finally decided to implement the green-white-checker policy into the Busch and Cup Series races. It’s about time. Mira started walking for real this week. Wednesday afternoon, to be precise. She’s now able to start walking, stop and then start again most of the way across the family room. Xander is elated. I suspect they’ll be chasing each other around the house any day now.
I’m very proud of Richmond International Raceway for providing a section of alcohol free seating at their track. That makes it a lot easier for me to consider taking Xander to a race there.
That’s what the doctor thinks anyway. The quick test came back negative, but he wasn’t convinced. He said the list of symptoms that I gave sounded like strep, so he’s doing the long test and has me on antibiotics at least till the test comes back. He said I should be fine for work tomorrow [...]
My earlier comment about feeling better may have been a bit too soon. As the day as gone on, I’ve found myself feeling worse again. I dunno if I’ll make work tomorrow or not at this point. I might actually go to the doctor instead.

We had a nice trip out to Kate’s parents after Dene’s wedding. Xander loved getting to see them. We also had a mini-party for Mira when we got there. She got some nice toys to play with. Kate and I also got a good dose of Sonic since they have one in Sylva. Thursday morning [...]
We’re back home. Mira start running a fever of around 102°, so we cut the vacation short. We’re gonna try to get her to the doctor tomorrow. More details after I’ve gotten some rest.
