More Snow
by @ 11:59 pm.

Oh good. More snow. Predictions are about an inch or two today and up to 6 inches overnight. *sigh* I made the mistake of trying to get in to work today anyway instead of working from home. 1 1/2 hours on the road. *sigh*

Birthday Lunch
by @ 11:59 pm.

Took Xander to Red Robin today for his birthday lunch. That’s where he said he wanted to go when we asked. So we mention to the waiter that it’s Xander’s birthday and, as expected, most of the waitstaff shows up with baloons and a sundae for him and sings to him. They even announced to the entire restaurant that he was turning 3. Xander was kind bewildered by it. Then they walked away and we explained to him that they were singing to him because it was his birthday. You should have seen the smile on his face. He thought that was so cool. He also enjoyed his sundae quite a bit. I won’t be surprized if he asks us for one next time. We had some birthday cake after dinner tonight also and he got to blow out the “3″ candle, which he thought was great fun.

Red Robin is a great place, btw. Great food and completely non-smoking! Extremely kid friendly. We end up going once every other week or so because it’s just the perfect place to take Xander. He loves the grilled cheese sandwiches there.

Xander is 3
by @ 11:59 pm.

Xander turns 3 today!

I can’t believe that he’s been with us for 3 years already. And yet at the same time it seems like he’s always been here. I’m constantly amazed at the things he does and understands. I can’t imagine what our lives would be like with out him in it. He’s such a source of joy and love, it’s just amazing. It doesn’t matter how bad a day I’ve had, when I come home the fact that he’s so happy to see me makes everything better. Don’t get me wrong. I’m always glad to see Kate too, but she is an adult and so has an adult way of dealing with the world. She’ll finish what she’s doing, or look up from it and say “Hi” and go back to it or something. Xander gives full out joy. He usually stops whatever he’s doing and rushes up to me yelling, “Daddy! You’re home!” It’s just hard to beat that.

3 Year Checkup for Xander
by @ 11:59 pm.

Took Xander for his 3 year checkup today. The doctor said everything looks fine.
Vital Stats:

I also made it back into physical work today. It’s nice to have access to two cars again. Of course, I spent 45 minutes driving around the parking lot trying to find a space to park because of the snow.

Baby Update
by @ 11:59 pm.

Took Kate to her OB appointment today. Doctor says everything seems to be going fine. He also said they’d take a look next month and try to get a better idea on this whole boy/girl thing for us, so hopefully next time the little one will be in a better position for us.

Got my car out today and a path to the door from the driveway. Even made it easier for the mailman to get to the mailbox.

Got the van out today and made it to the grocery store to get milk for Xander. Getting my car out is gonna have to wait till tomorrow.

Snow Totals
by @ 11:59 pm.

Looks like we got about 19″ total. I got about halfway to the road shoveled in the driveway today. This isn’t going to be easy.

Lots of Snow!
by @ 11:59 pm.

Talk about a big snow. We have around 18″ in our front yard. We have drifts much larger than that. It’s been quite an exciting day watching it pile up. Shoveling is gonna be fun.

Snow!
by @ 11:59 pm.

Snow started coming down last night. We’ve got a few inches on the groud. Xander had a great time playing outside with Ericka and Zack and helping me shovel. The “big” snow is susposed to hit us overnight.

Sonogram
by @ 11:59 pm.

We took Kate to get a sonogram today. The doctor said that everything looks fine. The baby seems to be on track for all the measurments that they did. And the answer to be big question is…
It’s a girl! Maybe.
They couldn’t tell for sure because of the positioning of the baby. But we are adopting the “she” pronoun she now for simplicity.

Also, we have a big snow on the way. Should be exciting.

We stopped by Best Buy to get Kate some DVDs to watch (she’s not feeling very well today) and they have a new HDVR2 open box for $199. So we snatched that up and have a TiVo in the bedroom now. Woo hoo!

Suikoden III
by @ 11:59 pm.

Well, here’s hoping Suikoden III is as good as everyone has said. I just spent $70 to get a new copy of it off of EBay. It’s impossible to find these days. I checked every EB in a 50 mile radius with no luck. Looked at a Best Buy, Target, and even a Wal-Mart and Zany Brainy. No luck. So I resorted to EBay. Found one for $70 with a buy-it-now option, so I just went ahead and did it. It’s not likely that I’d have gotten it for less than that on EBay anyway. Hopefully I’ll have it in a week or so and can give it a try.

Oh, by the way, Jeff Green has the pole in the Daytona 500!

Nannie and J-Pa Visit
by @ 11:59 pm.

Nannie and J-Pa were up last night. Xander, of course, was thrilled to see both of them. He had a great time playing with them. We were all sorry that they had to go back this morning.

They brought up my last bit of Christmas with them. Got Metroid Fusion and No One Lives Forever 2. I’ve played about 20 minutes of Metroid Fusion, and it’s great fun. Looking forward to getting some NOLF2 in this weekend.
