Too Much to Do
by @ 11:59 pm.

I’m simply interested in too many things at once.

Said interest keeps me from doing any of these things as well as I’d like.

Here’s a brief list of things I’m interested in at the moment, in no particular order:

These things seem to get in the way of each other. And the console/computer games get in the way of each other as well, so I could really list all those seperately. Now, on the plus side, Playing with Xander gets a higher weight that the others, so I feel like I get that one done pretty well. The others though, take turns getting left behind a little. Lately, my D&D planning has suffered. I’ve got all these great ideas for the campaign, but I’m having trouble getting them all down in a playable form. I’ve got a 2 week break from playing coming up, hopefully I can put the time to good use to get ahead on it.

Happy Birthday Perl!

Happy Birthday Perl!

Larry Wall released Perl 1.000 on 12/18/1987. Lucky for me that he did, since Perl is the reason I’m where I am today!

And AdCritic is gone. I enjoyed that site. Oh well.

Ear Infection
by @ 11:59 pm.

I never mentioned my ear problems.

So last Wednesday morning I wake up and my throat is kind of sore. No big deal. I most likely slept with my mouth open or something. I’ll drink a lot of water and I’ll be fine.

No dice. I go to bed with my throat kind of sore. I wake up Thursday morning and my ear is hurting also. No big deal. I’ve had this problem off and on for a year now.

One again, no dice. By the end of the day I’m really hurting. I’d have left work if I could have gotten an apointment. Kate convinces me to not worry about taking her out for dinner that night as was planned. I call and get an apointment for the next day.

Turns out I have a bunch of fluid built up in my middle ear. So I’m on Allegra-D now to help everything drain out and to hopefully keep it from happening again (since it happened about 6 months ago, only I ended up with an infection that time). I’m also on 2 weeks of antibiotics, since the doctor wanted to make sure I don’t develop an infection while we wait for the fluid to drain out.

Saturday, Sunday, and Monday morning my ear hurts worse than it did before. My best theory is that the fluid was draining out and everything was sore from being streched out, but hurt more once it wasn’t under the constant pressure.

Anyway, Monday afternoon, I’m at work and forget to take my Advil in the afternoon. Advil, btw, was the only way I was able to function for the past week. It’s not till I get home that I realize this. So I then notice that my ear doesn’t actually hurt any more, and I barely have any pain in my throat. Woo hoo!

I’m pretty much fine now. I intend to stay on the Allegra-D unless a good reason to stop presents itself. It’s keeping my head clearer (snot wise that is) than it’s been in a long time. Oh, and I’m gonna finish my antibiotics as ordered, of course.

Final Fantasy X Coming Out Early
by @ 11:59 pm.

The question of the day is, “Will Ty be able to resist buying Final Fantaxy X before he finishes Metal Gear Solid 2?

SquareSoft has
announced that limited quantities will be shipped on December 18th (and in stores on the 20th). The odds of me finding one are pretty small anyway. So I’m going to try to resist the urge.

Xander’s Progress
by @ 11:59 pm.

Xander was off the the GI specalist again this morning. He now weighs 23 pounds 10 ounces. This is a gain of 10 ounces in the last month, which Dr. Chao was very happy with. She wants to see him again in 2 months, and if he’s still gaining weight at that point, she’ll be done with him. Needless to say Kate and I feel much better now than we did before the visit.

So while we were in the doctors office waiting for her to get in Xander did something new. We pointed at Kate and asked, “What’s she called?” Xander replied, “Mama.” Kate and I did a double take. So we pointed at me and asked, “What’s he called?” Xander replies with “Dada.” I had to do a little happy dance. He’s said the words before, but that is the first time he’s shown that he knows what they mean. He also was able to sign them and say them together, which shows that he’s putting that puzzle together as well.

We managed to put the tree together this weekend. Did I mention that we bought a 9 ft tree to replace our tiny old apartment days one? Well, we did. You know, a 9 ft tree is a lot bigger in our family room than it is in the middle of Lowe’s. No lights up on it yet. That’s a project for some night this week. Putting light up on the outside of the house is on the schedule for this coming weekend.
