So I checked the UPS site this morning, and my new computer is on it’s way to me, even as I type this.
11:12am: Woo hoo! The computer is here. Of course now I’m on the phone with UPS, because the driver just left it on my porch without even ringing the door bell. UPS has done this every time they’ve delivered something to us here, and I’m tired of it. It was fine with it was a $40 game, but this is a little bit different. Anyway, report on the new computer later.
So my new computer has made it to Burtonsville, MD as of 12:31pm EDT today, so maybe it will actually show up tomorrow as the UPS site claims.
Update: As of 8:06pm, my computer is on the way to Dulles. Looks like it should get here tomorrow as scheduled.
It occurs to me that I’ve not mentioned how happy I am that The Daily Show is back on the air. Frankly, I need them right now.
Angel season premiere was tonight. It looks like it was a nice start. Opens up a lot of new threads for the season and follows up on some of the stuff left over from last season. I think that the show is going to do just fine without Buffy around on the same network, though I will miss the ocassional crossover.
So Kate joined Xander and me today in our antibiotic taking ways. Looks like she’s got the same thing Xander has, some sort of throat infection. We here at the Warren household are kind of a sorry bunch at the moment.
Long time, no post.
Frankly, with all the stuff that’s been going on, I’ve not much felt like posting. Anyway, here’s what’s going on lately.
We are, of course, still in a bit of shock over the whole WTC thing, which until last Tuesday I would have assumed meant Wizards of the Coast. Luckly, all my friends and family are all safe. None of my airline friends or family were on any of the planes, and no one I know was in any of the buildings. Life in this country will never be quite the same though.
So President Bush has created the Office of Homeland Security. Those of us who watched Babylon 5 will all shudder at that a little bit. Sounds a little too close to the Ministry of Peace to me. The exact chose of title bothers me a little. It’s not the Office of Domestic Security it’s the Office of Homeland Security. That choice of words makes me want to watch it very closely.
Now on to local news…
Xander and I are both on antibiotics. He’s got a tonsilitis and ironically, I’ve got an ear infection. Xander seems to be doing ok now, he seems happy enough anyway. I on the other hand, feel like I have a gallon of water in my ear, and it’s slowly driving me insane. The doctor said it’ll get better in a few days, so if I can keep the ice pick out of my ear till then I should be ok.
On a happier front, I’ve ordered myself a new tiny god.
According to the status page on CyberPower Inc it shipped yesterday and is enroute to me even as week speak. So I expect to get it around Thrusday of next week. Black & White and Max Payne should look mighty nice on it. And hopefully Arcanum will be playable on it, unlike my current machine.
Just a quick update for anyone who knows me and might be checking here to see. My family and extended family are all safe and sound. None of my many airline related relatives were involved in the attacks that happened today, we are all fine, but shaken. Our thoughts and prayers go out to those who were less fortunate today.
I finished Anachronox over the long weekend. Wow, what a game. I hope the next one gets made, even though Ion Storm is no more. I really would like to know how the story turns out.
